Meet Kristen

Kristen Jongen is an American artist and poet. She is the voice behind Soul Soup, Inc., a media company featuring original content, paintings, prints, books, and greeting cards.

Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Huff Post and other
North American publications. She has written and published two books.

Jongen's inspirational poetry and artwork have a broad international following. Her books are used in a wide range of venues, including collegiate modern poetry courses, counseling/support groups,
and wellness centers across the nation.

As a public speaker, Kristen engages audiences with her raw and vulnerable humor. She speaks on the ambiguous hallways in between life’s personal crucifixions and mini resurrections.

Kristen is a monthly columnist for New York City’s W42st magazine and hosts
a weekly podcast entitled Sober in the City.

Kristen finds inspiration through deconstructing life’s complexities, with simple truths of being a mother, spiritual-seeker and friend. She works and lives in Chicago with her children and Poodle Beezus.
